2023 Review: Top Reads

Recipes shared by BYU alumni topped the list of most-viewed Y Magazine stories this year. From salted brown butter cookies to a savory ham and swiss croissant bake to lemon blueberry muffins, it seems everyone loves trying a new recipe. Readers also enjoyed a spiritual feast: “A Prophetic Promise Fulfilled,” by Kevin J Worthen, “Designed for Covenant Relationships” by Jenet Jacob Erickson, “Flashes of Light” by Steven J. Lund, and “Christ’s Light Burden” by W. Justin Dyer.

For President C. Shane Reese’s inauguration, BYU’s combined choirs and Philharmonic orchestra put together a music program in just a couple of weeks. Their powerful performance of “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing” has garnered 1.5 million video views and tops this playlist of inspiring music from 2023.

2023 Review: Podcast Episodes

In the inaugural year of the Y Magazine podcast, the most popular episode was an audio tour of BYU’s new music building, followed by an interview with President Reese. Other top episodes include a primer on happiness, a rundown on living life essentially with alum author Greg McKeown, and an episode on wellness.
