BYU student Emily Seals felt isolated when she had COVID, so she reached out to a BYUSA leader, asking, “What can we do to help students who are in this same situation?” Her concern led to a program that delivered care packages to students who needed support. BYUSA’s COVID Outreach program has delivered more than 800 packages to students who were in quarantine because of COVID-19.

For their performance of “It’s Raining Men,” which they filmed, mixed, and produced by themselves, BYU Noteworthy took first place in their ICCA region with 440 out of 465 points. Now they’re moving on to the semifinals. In their spare time, they dressed up in suits and recorded “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” at the Springville Museum of Art.

Grad Jason Burt and his trumpet-playing soldier grandfather Richard (who attended BYU before WWII) were recently featured on Good News Network for their parts in producing the only known music recording made near a WWII battlefield. After his grandfather passed away, Jason discovered vinyl records in the garage, with 10 songs recorded in 1945 by the 746th Far East Air Force Band in the Philippines. After working to remaster the music, Jason Burt is now pushing to get a Best Historical Album Grammy nomination for his grandpa’s military band. Sample the historic music here.

About 61 percent of Americans have had at least one adverse childhood experience (ACE), experts’ formal term for a traumatic childhood event. Two recent BYU studies analyzed how ACEs shape fathers’ parenting approaches as well as adolescents’ delinquent behaviors—rates were higher for girls with four or more ACEs.
