As the Paris Olympics begin this weekend, BYU finds itself solidly in the running—in events from the steeplechase to the 5000m to the marathon (not to mention grads competing in 3x3 hoops and rugby). It’s the latest reflection of the world-class distance-running programs led by BYU coaches Ed Eyestone and Diljeet Taylor. Both programs boast storied success in decades past, and each has a pack of promising athletes ready to build the BYU dynasties they’ve inherited.
