With Cosmo as the honored founder, BYU celebrates Homecoming this week. Festivities include BYU Spectacular! featuring Ben Rector and Hilary Weeks, a week-long campus scavenger hunt, a BYU Birthday Bash, and the Cougars’ football face-off with No. 14 Boise State on Saturday night at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Bulldog Boulevard is now Cougar Boulevard. The name change was unveiled this morning at the intersection of 1230 North and Canyon Road by BYU president Kevin Worthen, Cosmo, and Provo mayor Michelle Kaufusi. “I can’t think of a better birthday present for this time-honored university that is truly such a valuable part of our community fabric,” says Kaufusi. “It is only fitting that BYU’s gateway entrance now be aptly named and appropriately mascot branded.”

Women’s soccer continues to dominate after a 6-0 win over Pacific on October 12. The team now prepares to play Saint Mary’s on Friday at South Field. And, for the first time in program history, both BYU cross country teams are ranked No. 2 in the country.

After an NFL scout observed Vai Sikahema's abilities in only two BYU football games, BYU's outstanding return man was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals. Years later, Sikahema returned to BYU to finish his degree in broadcast communications. Now a successful news and sports reporter, Sikahema also finds time to serve in his church calling as an Area Seventy.
