After 20 years of service as BYU’s director of athletics, Tom Holmoe announced that he will be retiring at the end of the 2024–25 athletic season. Holmoe has overseen a nationally recognized program with 21 sports, 600+ athletes, and a 220-person staff. With Holmoe at the helm, BYU won 4 national and 133 conference titles, ranking 36th on average in the NACDA Learfield Directors’ Cup—reaching 17th in 2020–21 and No. 1 in fall 2022.
